You may run this simple Tweak to disable multiple threads of iexplorer.exe. This will increase the performance of Windows, but since a single thread is active, your IE performance may impact due to this change.
I recommend backing up the windows registry before executing the .reg file, so that you can restore the registry if you feel that the performance is impacted.
