Unable to close the Internet Explorer window

Issue - You may experience the following error while trying to close the Internet Explorer window using the X button on the right top corner, or select Close options by right-clicking the window, or use from File menu option:

Cause – This issue happens if the registry settings are modified and not because of any viruses.

Solution - To resolve this issue, first close all the IE windows using the Task Manager. Goto registry editor change the DWORD value to 0 for the registry key “NoBrowserClose” under the below registry path:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwarePoliciesMicrosoftInternet ExplorerRestrictions

Simply download, unzip the .zip files, and run the .reg file. Ensure to take backup of the registry before you run the .reg file.
